The purpose of the study and how research was implemented
In this study, the main purpose is to understand the experience of women who induced an abortion during adolescent as demanded by their mothers. It is due to the fact that the number of adolescent pregnancies is increasing across the globe. For instance, approximately 15 million girls between 15 to 19 years give birth every year. For the study to be implemented, the quantitative data based on the social phenomenology method which was carried out in the year 2010 was used. It is because it enables the researcher to comprehend the human phenomena which happens in the social world. The study was derived from the doctoral dissertation addressing the seven women who underwent an abortion during their adolescence. More emphasis was put on the abortions which were done as a result of the inducement from the mothers. The data was collected from the community and the testimonies of the three women living in Minas Gerais Brazil were included in the study. The data was collected from the participants through an interview method. It was then presented and analyzed to provide answers to the research questions and justify the research hypothesis.
Comment on validity and quality of the study
In every research process, the quality and validity of research is very vital. It is because it tends to justify whether the data collection and analysis was marred with errors and biases which can result into the provision of the misleading results. Therefore, the following discussions will determine the quality of the research work.
Credibility and trustworthiness of the data
In the study, it can be evident that the data was credible and can be trusted since they were first hand and collected from experienced participants. The primary data was collected from the women who are 18 years age, an age which falls within the range established by the World Health Organization. Also, the study took into consideration women who met the exclusion and inclusion criteria of the study. Besides, due to the fact that the interviews were scheduled in advance, an appropriate time was provided for the respondents to prepare for the interview. It thus means that the genuine data was extracted from them hence validity of the data. Moreover, the questions asked were simple to understand and comprehend a process which allows the participants to answer the research questions comfortably, a situation which enables them to provide true and updated results. It can thus be manifest that the data was valid and can be trusted for analysis, decision making process and policy implementation.
Potential sources of bias
In the study, the potential sources of bias are during the collection of data. It is because the informal interview was conducted from unspecified respondents from the community in question. These can raise questions on who were the respondents and one could not gauge whether the information provided were genuine. These can thus result into biases.

Order an essayHow far the finding can be generalized or transferable
In relation to the study, the findings of the study cannot be a good measure to be extended to the general population as a whole. It is because only three women were interviewed to obtain the data to be used in the analysis. However, the data can be transferable to be applied in real life situation. It is because, it disclose the manner in which mothers influence the minors to conduct an abortion, a situation which can attract the Brazilian government and other governments to take a step in reducing such acts from taking place in the contemporary society.
The General Logic of the Research Design
In general, the research design of the study was logical since it is a quantitative study which was grounded on the theoretical-methodological framework of the phenomenology was used. It is a method which has been used successfully in 2010 by Alfred Schutz. Besides, the data collection process was good and appropriate statistical tools were used. The population was identified and the sample representing the population was determined. The number of the total samples was too small to represent the total population. The researchers however did collect other information from the community members to back up the generalization process. Therefore, it can be concluded that the study was good and the result can be used to influence the policy decisions whether to legalize abortion or to restrict people from undertaking abortion. However, I would recommend that the mothers who induce their daughters to undertake abortion should be shun by arresting and prosecuting them. Besides, the perpetrators should suffer the same fate as these mothers. It is because girls of ages 10 to 15 are minors and they cannot make sound judgments and decisions.
